College Night set for Tuesday

Lee County Juniors and seniors are invited to College Night Tuesday to provide them with the opportunity to converse with more than 100 representatives from colleges, universities and technical schools from around the country.
“We encourage students to come and take advantage of this opportunity to meet representatives from so many colleges, universities and technical schools,” School District of Lee County Spokesperson Rob Spicker said. “We also recommend spending time with as many representatives as possible because you may find a school for you at a place you did not expect.”
School Counseling Director Lori Brooks said the district has offered College Night for more than 30 years with more than 4,000 students and parents attending each year.
“College Night is an annual event in every Florida school district as part of the Florida Tour,” she said. “The event is intended to provide students exposure to post-secondary schools and the opportunity for to engage in conversation with college admissions representatives.”
This year the event will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, at Suncoast Credit Union Arena at Florida SouthWestern College, 13351 FSW Parkway, Fort Myers. There is a strict clear bag policy and security will conduct bag checks at the door. Outside food and drinks are prohibited in the arena.
“Each post-secondary school provides admissions information and program highlights about their post-secondary school,” Brooks said. “Students are recommended to use their information from ACT to plan for their college fair experience.”
