Lehigh man arrested for child sexual abuse material and threats of kidnapping and murder
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) arrested Dakoda Craig Daniels, 27, of Lehigh Acres, this morning at his residence. They also executed a search warrant for his home.
Daniels is facing charges of transmitting material harmful to minors by electronic device or equipment, soliciting a child for unlawful sexual conduct using computer services or devices, transmitting child sexual abuse material by electronic device or equipment, and written or electronic threat to kill or do bodily injury.
According to a news release from FDLE, the agency started to investigate Daniels after getting a tip from the National Center for Missing or Exploited Children in July 2023. Officials from FDLE said the inquiry included interviewing the juvenile victim as well as reviewing the ways Daniels electronically communicated with her.
According to FDLE, Daniels interacted with the victim by using the texting app Discord, sending sexually explicit messages, images and videos. Daniels also allegedly talked about kidnapping the victim and killing members of her family.
FDLE Miami also executed a search warrant at a Deerfield Beach home they said was a focal point of the investigation. FDLE agents believe Daniels sent the victim many messages from that residence.
Daniels was booked into the Lee County Jail.
