Venice man sentenced in Fort Myers stalking, violent threats case

A Venice man has been found guilty and sentenced to 10 years in prison, followed by five years of probation, for making violent threats and stalking.
Ryan Joseph Griffin, 33, was sentenced to five years in prison for aggravated stalking – violation of a final judgement of injunction for protection against stalking by making threats.He was also sentenced to 10 years in prison, followed by five years of probation, for making a written threat to kill or do bodily injury and to conduct a mass shooting or act of terrorism.
His sentences will run at the same time.
Griffin met the victim in Fort Myers in 2021 and 2022 on a dating website. He used various methods of communication to harass and threaten the victim.
The Fort Myers Police Department investigated the crime.
