Downtown Fort Myers to host St. Patrick’s Day Block Party
The River District Alliance (RDA) will host the annual St. Patrick’s Day Block Party on March 17 from noon to 8 p.m. on the historic streets of downtown Fort Myers.
The event will feature live music performed by Deb & the Dynamics, Neil Zirconia, The Patina Turners, DJ Billy Lydon, Celtic Stew, The Notables, Cool Vibes, Fiddler Dave McGrath and Friends, Ros ar Dealga and the Kellyn Celtic Arts – Dancers. In addition, Lucy’s Llamas will provide a petting zoo from noon to 4 p.m. bringing lots of fun and merriment for families to enjoy.
Many of the restaurants are preparing new twists on Irish traditional foods including Reuben Pizza (DHOP); Irish Tacos (Hideaway), Shamrock Shakes (Scoops on First) and Chef Brian Duffy’s famous Corned Beef & Cabbage Cheesesteaks (City Tavern).
“Today everybody is Irish. Downtown will be a sea of green. I am sure there will be a few shenanigans, several Leprechauns, very little malarky and lots of lots of fun,” said Lisa Sbuttoni, RDA president and CEO.
The event is sponsored by Seminole Casino; The Ivy Downtown Apartments; 4EverYoung, Anti Aging Solutions; ERES Capital; Suncoast Beverage, River District Alliance, City of Fort Myers; and Fort Myers Redevelopment Council.
