Virginia Phyllis Brkovich

Virginia Phyllis Brkovich, 88, of North Fort Myers died on March 22, 2010 at her residence after an extended illness. She had been under the care of Hope Hospice since January 2010. She was born on Sept. 12, 1921 in Kankakee, Ill., one of four children of John and Gladys (Gerber) Jefferson.
A resident of North Fort Myers since May 1983, she previously lived in Barnegat, N.J., Yardley, Pa. and Gary, Ind. She loved to fish and spend time boating when she lived in New Jersey. In her younger days she enjoyed cards, bingo, poker and bridge. Virginia was a long time member of First Christian Church of Cape Coral.
Wife of the Joseph J. Brkovich who died in November 2003, she is survived by her daughter, Deborah Jo Brown and her granddaughter, Ashley Marie Brown, both of North Fort Myers and her sisters-in-law, Dorothy Ziletsky and Barbara Brkovich both of Indiana.
A Memorial Service will be held on April 17, at 11 a.m. at First Christian Church, 2620 Country Club Boulevard, Cape Coral, FL 33904.
