Beverly Ann Fecteau
Beverly Ann Fecteau, 65, of Cape Coral, Fla. passed away on Nov. 15, 2011 at Hope Hospice, Cape Coral. Beverly was born on April 23, 1946 in Weymouth, MA to Barbara and Charles (Ted) Walker. She was the youngest of three children. She lived in Cape Coral for the past 19 years, formerly from Hopkinton, MA.
Bev worked for Youngerset Day Care in North Fort Myers as a teacher’s aide, she would pick them up and take them home. She would bring them swimming and to the movies.
Bev was a wonderful, loving and caring woman and loved her family very much.
Bev always loved all animals she owned her own horse as a young adult and loved horseback riding; she loved and enjoyed showing her Irish setters and going to dog shows.
She drove a school bus back in Massachusetts. She loved playing and teaching children. She also worked as a groomer. A woman who loved the outdoors she loved snowmobiling, sledding, tobogganing, ice skating, roller skating, going to apple orchards and tapping trees. She also loved camping, fishing, walking the beach, swimming and looking for shells.
Bev was always doing for others, whether working at the Grace Community Center Thrift Store or serving meals. She belonged to Paws in Grace Community Church which is an outreach to Nursing homes where she would bring her Irish Setters, Fletcher and Kitty to visit the residents.
Bev loved collecting the beads at Ybor City, St Patrick’s Day Parade and the Gasparilla Parade and attending various Craft Fairs.
She loved the Holidays the most! She always had an open house and loved going to all the local Holiday Festivities and enjoyed seeing everything through a child s eye.
Family message: It is going to be very hard on all of us this Christmas without her. I am sure she never knew how much we all appreciated her. When you would try to thank her or do anything for her she would be dismissive and not allow you. She would much rather give than receive. Bev never wanted any attention on herself.
Bev loved life and really wanted to stay with us and beat the cancer, but she was called home by the Good Lord.
She is survived by her husband, Milton Fecteau, her sons, Justin (Jennifer) and Joshua Fecteau, stepson, John (Melissa), grandchildren, Andrew, Faith, Michael and Kaylee, her brother, Doug (Angie) Walker of Marion, SC and her nephew, Paul, nieces, Jerry, Jennifer, Allison and Vicki. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, David Walker.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Dec. 11 at Grace Community Center, 4151 Hancock Bridge Parkway, North Fort Myers, a reception to follow in the church s social hall.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Bev’s name to Grace Community Center. Friends may sign the guest book at www.horizonfunerals.com.
