Helen Dorthyleen Sorrels
Helen Dorthyleen Sorrels, 77, a North Fort Myers resident for the last 19 years, formerly of Ocala, Fla. and Detroit, MI, died Sunday, March 4, 2012. She was born Aug. 1, 1934 in Boone, NC to Jessie and Blanche Greene, now deceased. Helen was a devoted member of the Rainbow Project Ministries.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Ray Sorrels, in 1999. She is survived by her two daughters, Gwendolyn Collins and her husband Gregory of Cape Coral, Fla. and Greta A. Foster and her husband James of Crossville, TN; two sisters, Lysette Parsons and Mary Greene both of NC; two brothers, Edward Greene of NC and Steve Greene of MI; seven grandchildren, Cameron, Chase, Cody, Martin, Melanie, Marie and Joshua; as well as six great grandchildren, Carson, Caeden, Michael, Matthew, Caleb and Anya.
Memorial services were held Tuesday, March 6, at the Faith Assembly of God, 6950 Bayshore Rd., North Ft. Myers with Pastor Steve Anderson officiating.
