Robert Louis Jette

Robert Louis Jette, 84, of North Fort Myers passed away Sunday, June 15, 2014, after a short battle with disease. He was born Sept. 30, 1929, in Pawtucket, R.I., a son of Joseph A. and Lillian V. (Lawson) Jette.

A resident of North Fort Myers, he previously lived in Cape Coral and California.

After serving in the U.S. Army-Airborne Unit during the Korean War, he enjoyed a life-long career as a plant engineer in aerospace facilities in California at The Foxboro Company and later HR Textron, both in Valencia. He also served as president at the Los Padrinos Club with St. Francis Assisi’s Catholic Church and facilitated their weekly fund-raising Bingo in Fillmore, Calif.

He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 62 years, Evelyn Beatrice (Lecours) Jette; his children, Deborah Lecours, Elaine (Francois) Lambert and Robert A Jette; along with his grandchildren, Lindsay (Jeremy) Preissner, Alexya (Anthony) Fullerton, Jourdan (Kellie) Lambert, Lauren Jette and Claire Lambert; his great-granddaughter, Trinity Claire Priessner; his big sister, Lillian ‘Sis’ Caffrey DeIorio; and younger sisters, Norma, Joan, Janet, Suzanne and Yvette.

Memorial services will be postponed until that time when a Celebration of Life memorial might be scheduled at a later date in Attleboro, Mass.
