Georgina K. Siegel, 79, went home to be with Jesus peacefully on Sept. 9, 2014 at Shell Point’s Larson Pavilion under Hospice care in Fort Myers, Fla. after a lengthy illness. She was born on April 25, 1935 in Paterson, N.J. to Bradley E. and Georgina Parliman.

She graduated from Ramsey High School in Ramsey, N.J. in 1953. After high school she attended Newark-Beth Israel Hospital School of Nursing in Newark, NJ. She became a Registered Nurse in 1956. Georgina lovingly cared for people from birth to death for more than 50 years until retiring to Cape Coral, Fla. After her husband’s death in 1999, she took a nurse refresher course and continued her career, working in rehabilitative nursing and Hospice nursing. She loved being able to care for others.

Georgina was a member of the choir at Cape Coral First United Methodist Church and Faith Presbyterian church. She enjoyed singing in choral groups, namely “The Sounds of Florida.” She was also a member of “The Classy Red Hats” of Cape Coral, Fla. She loved cruising with friends and family. If there was a cruise scheduled, she was always interested in getting tickets! Georgina enjoyed loving her Red Standard Poodles, Bailey and Lucy. Lucy will be adopted by her daughter, Kathy Jean. Bailey is in heaven waiting for his cookie!

Georgina is survived by her dear friend and caregiver, Eldred Schrager of North Fort Myers, Fla.; brother, Bradley E. Parliman, Jr. (Christine Hand-Parliman) of Connecticut; her children, Kathy Jean Walter (Steven Walter) and Susan Siegel of Cape Coral, Fla., Merilie Ardizzone, and Edward Siegel of New Jersey; her grandchildren, Michael Ardizzone and Tyler Ardizzone of New Jersey, Timothy Flynn and Kathleen Flynn of Florida; and many more friends and relatives whose lives she has touched in so many ways. Georgina is predeceased by her husband, Arthur A. Siegel. They were happily married for 43 years.

A celebration of life and graveside interment next to her husband will be held at Coral Ridge Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1630 SW Pine Island Road, Cape Coral, on Oct. 11 to allow for family and friends to gather from other states.

In lieu of flowers, the family and friends request memorial donations be made to Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908
