American healthcare plan needed

1 min read

To the editor:

The American people voted for real effective change. I believe this means we want an end to the antiquated partisan attitudes that have plagued our political system for years. I do not know if the Democratic plan will work, or if it will increase taxes. I do know the Republicans had the past eight years to improve our lives, and their plans were disastrous. Real change demands that all involved open their minds and work together, not stand in direct opposition to the will of the American voters.

Americans spend more than most other countries on health care, yet rank well below the leading industrial nations. We also have more uninsured citizens than the leading nations. If we do not implement true reform, provide healthcare for all Americans, quickly, our elected officials are failing all of us.

We the people do not need a Canadian, French, English, Republican, or Democratic Plan. We need an American Plan. One that restores America to the position of respect and pride we deserve.
