School board gets something right
To the editor:
I am happy to see that the Lee School Board figured it out after all. There was quite a concern that they didn’t have the gumption or the understanding of all the dynamics to wade through this issue of giving Jewish students a day off for the observance of Rosh Hashanah or the holiest day in the Jewish year, Yom Kippur.
I’d have rather seen YK given off, but….
The School board saved itself quite a federal-level legal battle that would have ended up costing the board possibly millions to fight, and might have ended up with kids attending school Christmas Day.
Now – if the City of Cape Coral would follow suit, do what’s ethical and come to a better decision on the KC River Stop issue….
