Tax toeholds to be feared

To the editor:

As we watch our new president strive to spend our nation into oblivion with all of his various innovations to straighten out our oh- so-many financial dilemmas – whether or not we are willing to accept it – the glorification of the slime among us, is in the main reason our nation is declining in its stature, and rapidly headed for the dust bin of history.

The promotion of the drug culture, rap music, the mode of dress among our young, their tattooed bodies and outlandish use of the English language (if they ever knew it) is a national disgrace, to say nothing of a complete disregard of any moral or respect for themselves or anyone one declares them in the long-run losers.

And, as we lean in the direction of allowing our government to tax our wealthy at a greater rate than everyone else, we had best be aware of the ground work which we are establishing which one day could drastically affect our own economic condition as we view a possible financial success just around the corner.

Back in 1923 when the Federal Income Tax was accepted by the citizenry, the tax was sold on the simple basis that only those who earned $500,000 a year would have to pay 3 percent of their income to the federal government. Naturally, since only a handful of the nation’s population were affected by this innovation it was overwhelmingly accepted by the citizenry. This was the foot in the door. Is there any resemblance to that initial income tax law in effect today? You can bet your life that there isn’t. When you give our president the right to rape the pocketbooks of our wealthy for whatever the reason, be careful, the throat you are cutting right now just may turn out to be your own.
