Rubio not Senate material
To the editor:
Marco Rubio is not qualified to represent Florida in the United States Senate.
Rubio has demonstrated that he believes that the voters are stupid and he can be successful by distorting the facts and by doing so he will be able to create the illusion that Gov. Crist is a bad man. Factually, Charlie Crist has served the citizens of Florida with grace, dignity, and skill and has performed honestly. The governor’s administrative skill is beyond reproach and he, as a United States Senator, will be the kind of representative who will make us all proud.
Mr. Rubio, on the other hand, has shown a reckless disregard for the Republican Party and a disturbing disrespect for Gov. Crist. A number of weeks ago, I wrote to Marco Rubio asking him to reconsider running against the governor and, by doing so, damaging the party and his own future political aspirations. For my good faith efforts, I received not even the common courtesy of a response. Obviously, the treatment I received is an indication of Mr. Rubio’s attitude towards Florida citizens and his shameful display should serve as a warning to voters at primary time.
Gov. Crist will make a great United States Senator.
