Seniors sold out by AARP
To the editor:
I, along with hundreds, if not thousands, of people have canceled their membership with AARP with a sense of justifiable outrage. AARP has betrayed the senior citizens of this country by backing President Obama’s health care plan.
This plan cuts $90 billion from Medicare and threatens to reduce your Social Security check by 12 percent. In addition AARP will receive millions of dollars from the government so that we have literally been sold out.
One wonders why AARP has taken this course aside from greed.
There is something nefarious going along at AARP, and its membership had better rise up, to protect their own interests.
AARP has become little more than a vehicle to sell insurance etc., with a facade of helping seniors.
Greed has seemed to have replaced responsibility in a shameful betrayal of its members.
