Rescuers were real life savers

To the editor:

At 8:20 a.m. on March 3 we were leaving Bay Pointe Yacht and Racquet Club heading toward Rt. 75. After passing the Hogbody’s restaurant we saw a small child on the road ahead and were stopping as we passed the child. A van and truck in both the east and west bound lanes saw what was happening and were able to stop and block traffic while one of them scooped up the child and got it out of harms way and took the child to the nearest house.

This was a heroic act and the three drivers should receive recognition for their quick action and bravery in saving the child’s life. I do not know these folk but they are my heroes and I am sure that they are also the heroes of the mother and father of the child. They have the sincere appreciation of the community for their brave actions.
