Delightful performance
To the editor:
“Teach music to a child and give the soul a voice” was a quote from an ad in the Ida S. Baker High School concert program presented for the public this past week. The audience could tell the students and their leaders put in hours of rehearsal and appreciated the skills of talented students. It was a delightful evening. I commend Richard Brown and Emily Pence for their dedication and skill as leaders of the group.
Seventy vocalists plus their accompanist and sixty-six instrumentalists made an impressive sight. Also, the 33 businesses which placed ads in the program are worthy of mention for their support of the arts. All this plus the rising of God’s full moon as we exited to the parking lot added up to a perfect evening. The public needs to give credit where credit is due, and these kids and their teachers deserve it.
Also, by the way, the readers of this paper contributed with their taxpayer dollars, also. They will never know the far-reaching benefit received for that investment.
