Say no to school board incumbents

1 min read

To the editor:

Please get out and vote. Vote every incompetent off the Board of Education quickly.

The DROP program was so poorly handled with Superintendent Browder. The board (with sole dissenting vote of Bob Chilmonik) allowed Browder to resign, retire and be rehired after 30 days leave. He could then collect his DROP money and begin collecting his Florida State Pension, however, now, he only has to work six more years and he will again collect a brand new pension at taxpayers’ expense. With his current salary, this could be $3,000 per month, plus first pension and SSA. Now, the current board allowed a provision in his contract that will almost assuredly permit him to do just that. The DROP program was amended so this very sort of thing cannot be repeated as of July 1, 2010, too late for the triple dipper superintendent and some other administrators.

The money for the class, students and teachers has really been misused. If this doesn’t make you want new and capable individuals on the board, I don’t know what will.
