Is anyone listening?
To the editor:
In the “Cape Section” of the May 27, issue of the other newspaper there appeared a letter by Keith McDonald of Bokeelia which put forth many of the answers to our nation’s financial problem. Was any of our national leadership listening? I certainly hope so, but, wouldn’t want to hang by my bootstrings awaiting an answer to that one.
Get rid of the United Nations and ship them all back to Bangladesh, eliminate all Congress retirement and medical coverage other than Medicare and Medicaid for them and their staff. Get rid of the Dept. of Education, the National Endowment of the Arts, the Dept. of Transportation, the Dept. of Energy, the Dept. of Labor, the Federal Reserve, FEMA, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the Federal Communications Commission and dump all their employees.
Pull all of our military back from around the world and put them on our own borders. Stop giving our money away, restore our oil drilling and crush that damnable Health Care Bill, and of course remove all, if not most of all earmarks.
Put the lock boxes back on Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid and proceed from there.
Sounds pretty good and workable to me. How about all you birds who run our affairs?
Bite that bullet and get on with that very important business before we all go down the drain together.
God bless and save our good old U.S.A.
