Susan B. Komen organization wrong
To the editor:
The Susan B. Komen organization is one of the most revered woman’s advocate groups in the world. Known for battling breast cancer, the Komen army has relentlessly fought the fight against cancer and has saved millions of women along the way. It’s an organization that has earned the respect of every well meaning person!
However, having said that, I must add that by attaching itself to the Planned Parenthood bunch, in any manner shape or form, they betray the memory of Susan B. Komen and relinquish a large portion of our admiration.
An argument can surely be made that Planned Parenthood has done many good things for large numbers of needy individuals. They fight sexually transmitted diseases, they provide cancer screening, and they deliver a number of other women’s health services. For these they deserve our respect.
However, they more than sacrifice our esteem, and they lose all credibility, when they report that in 2010 they killed 329,445 babies in the womb. Say it any way you like – abortion is murder, and vicious tortuous murder should not be either supported or rewarded!
The Komen group was right to cancel financial support for Planned Parenthood, and wrong to cave in to the ravings of political pinheads and then restore the funding stream!
I have always believed that I would see the day when cancer was cured. I never thought that I would see the day when cancer was politicized.
Protecting women from breast cancer has nothing to do with subsidizing the murder of babies and politicians who stick their noses where they don’t belong over step the power they have misbegotten.
Factually, the funding of Planned Parenthood is tantamount to being complicit in the killing of innocent human beings. And, no self respecting organization should involve itself or be associated with this worst kind of degeneracy! The depravity of murder is not what Susan B. Komen wanted her legacy to be.
