Season of nasty
To the editor:
The nasty season is in full swing.
The investigative powers of the various political candidates gives testimony of what can be achieved by diligence. We have now been privy to all the missteps of each of the candidates, save one. We have insiders and outsiders each proclaiming the inadequacies of their opponents.
However, through all this fuss and furor we have not yet uncovered why any of them would not be successful in Washington.
Are we really seeking to send a saint to Washington? I think not! Washington is the cathedral of nasty. The climate in Washington is such that whomever we send need not be “purer than Caesar’s wife.” But rather daring and wise enough to date her!
It surely is not the place for the timid.
