Where are our priorities?

2 min read

To the editor:

Forty-nine United States senators just took the time to construct, sign, and send a letter to the Washington Redskins football team. The letter expressed outrage that the organization has not responded to the senators’ campaign to get rid of the Redskin name.

Talk about lunacy, playing in the mud, and accepting taxpayers’ monies under false pretenses.

These 49 fools should be immediately placed on a do-not-reelect list for disrespecting their constituency and all sane Americans by ignoring our enormous problems in favor of absolute nonsense.

Sure, this may be an issue that we can discuss over a drink when we’re almost loaded. But with serious situations filling the plate of our disingenuous United States Senators, it’s sickening to think that these trusted elected officials would betray us.

Let’s examine the facts. We’ve still got unresolved: fast and furious, Benghazi, a $17 trillion debt threatening to choke us, the IRS scandal, the VA debacle, the uncivilized and continuing murder of millions of babies in the womb, and a myriad of other serious issues that are serving to diminish America around the world.

The Washington Redskins football team has utilized this name for more than 60 years and, in light of all that’s facing us, it’s absolute madness to spend time focusing on something that, in fact, is none of the senators’ business to begin with!

Lord help us if we reelect any of these meat heads.
