Hamman has served Lee County well
To the editor:
Local government has the most influence on your everyday life than any other level. Typically, local government is also the level that receives the least attention from the voters of Lee County. Recently, local politicians have received a lot of attention, but for all the wrong reasons. Embezzlement, drug arrests and frivolous election challenges should not, and cannot, define our community. I seek to elect individuals who will recognize the greatness of our community, and will competently and honorably strive to make it better.
Brian Hamman embodies the principles and virtues we should all be demanding from our elected officials. Commissioner Hamman understands the vital role that protecting our environment plays in our economy and quality of life, and will support bringing Conservation 20/20 funding back to the voters to decide. He has demonstrated a high level of understanding of the myriad issues facing the county, and has served us with distinction since taking office. Finally, I have always believed that, although we are a representative democracy, it should always be up to the people how they are governed. Brian believes in bringing the issue of whether term limits should be in place to the people, which I highly respect.
I know Brian personally, and have full confidence he will never embarrass this community with scandal. He has proven himself to be an excellent commissioner, and I encourage everyone to get to know him and his opponents. I believe you will agree that Brian Hamman will serve us with distinction.
