‘Holocaust’ under way?
To the editor:
In response to the mailbag writer who was fearful of another holocaust occurrence. I am not a denier, and I condemn them where and whenever they occur. It seems that there are frequent holocausts in places like Europe, Gaza, Lebanon, Africa.
We have an ongoing holocaust against African American males, minority males, and poor white males (unable to quite obtain white privilege.) Mass incarceration, racial profiling and poverty leaves many unable to cope. They fill our prisons and even more are vagrant on our city streets. Some have offspring which are also at risk. This perpetuates the problem.
We must find other solutions for these problems. We cannot continue to use our criminal justice system to solve social problems.
