Success is preferred to failure

To the editor:

The still upward pulsating trend of Donald Trump’s popularity is in stark contrast to the dismal performance of President Obama. If we fast forward past the next election, and find Donald Trump the victor, it will be most instructive to see the affect he has on international affairs.

Will Putin still see our President as a diplomatic wimp? Will Mexico find the courage to police their side of the border and encourage everyone there to respect both our laws and our border? Will he be able to forge an alliance that will crush ISIS? The expansionist endeavors of China in the seas surrounding their coastline bear witness to the creation of yet more “islands?”

Such a laundry list of worldwide concerns can only be successfully handled by someone who is used to solving problems and getting things accomplished. Because many of the items on the list cross many types of considerations, that President will have to be free from special interest concerns, as each situation will touch upon the ox of many watchful corporations. To gore any such ox will have ramifications here at home, so this matador of American leadership must possess the staunch qualities of a true and fearless standard bearer.

The needed materials to forge such a leader are being assembled. Donald Trump appears to already possess most of the required items for the forging of such a leader, and the remaining months that lead up to the nomination and subsequent election are inexorably moving forward.
