Benghazi vs Medicaid expansion
To the editor:
BENGHAZI: 32 Congressional hearings, 2780 questions, seven prior congressional investigations, 70,000 pages of documents and $20 million in taxpayers’ money.
Investigations found NO evidence of an administration wrong doing.
Investigations found NO evidence of any intelligence failure.
Investigations found NO evidence of a stand down order.
This is all about the unfortunate death of four Americans. BUT.. In reality it’s nothing more than Republicans trying to demonize a candidate they’ll probably lose to. Keep in mind this was four Americans. Now let’s look what denying Medicaid does.
MEDICAID EXPANSION: Researchers from Harvard University and City University of New York have estimated that between 7,115 and 17,104 deaths will be “attributable to the lack of Medicaid expansion in opt-out states” in a study published in Health Affairs.
As many as 17,000 Americans will die directly as a result of states deciding not to expand Medicaid under Obamacare, according to a new study.
Let’s see, Benghazi, four Americans dead.. refusal to expand Medicaid, 17,000 dead. Where’s the committee investigating refusal of Medicaid expansion? Way more people die without health care, without the ability to pay enormous, un-regulated prescription costs but if you’re a Republican who cares, just simply opt out of Medicaid expansion only because it connects to Obamacare. Isn’t this an administration wrong doing; isn’t this a stand down order?
Governors like our Governor Scott will pass bills like SB1842 restricting the Insurance Commissioner’s office to review and deny unjustified rate increases. We may as well place a mannequin behind the desk in the Insurance Commissioner’s office because Insurance Companies here in Florida just do as they please.
Bi-Partisanship, compromise to help those in need, to work together to improve our healthcare system does not exist with the party of NO. After Medicare finally covered seniors with pre-existing conditions, 50 years passed without a single effort by Conservatives to improve healthcare in this country. Of course after Obamacare they all now have better ideas. Where were they for 50 years? Wasting time and money with a ridiculous Benghazi committee is far more important.
