There is still hope
To the editor:
A?letter writer in another paper is right. He says “Marco Rubio is no Obama.” I say thank God for that!
Rubio loves this country and the principles and values upon which it was founded. He also believes in a strong military and knows it is crucial to rebuild what Obama has weakened and demoralized.
Furthermore, Rubio did not abandon immigration reform legislation for political gain, despite comments to the contrary. Rather he showed good sense by acknowledging reality, the lack of support for it at the time. Now he has detailed a better, three-step pathway to immigration reform after it is obvious the border is secure..
As for President Obama’s “character, foresight and leadership,” which the supporter somehow praises, ask yourself if America is better off for his Presidency; then look around. What you find is an America whose freedoms, culture and customs are disappearing. Obama’s promised transformation is nearly complete, but with it, the people have become angry, fearful, even desperate.
Yes, Rubio is no Obama – so there is still hope.
