‘13 Hours’ is Hillary’s ‘All the President’s Men’

To the editor:

The recently released movie “13 Hours” could do to Hillary Clinton what senators, congressmen, editorials, and even Donald Trump can’t do -“13 Hours” might finish Hillary Clinton’s political career. Or at least it should. Quite simply, this movie is about the Sept. 11, 2012 terrorist attacks at Benghazi, Libya against American personnel, including Ambassador Chris Stevens. It is about what happened and what did not happen. It is about what caused American lives to be lost and what did not cause American lives to be lost. It is about the truth, and it is about who lied for political reasons.

In America, movies have a profound impact on us. Someone can read or study material a dozen times, but what is gathered is only head knowledge. When one watches a movie, it can become heartfelt, of the soul type impact. Movies such as “Patton,” “Saving Private Ryan,” and “American Sniper” took words off of the printed page, put it up on the silver screen, and Americans felt those movies. It became a part of us. After watching these movies Americans more clearly understood, felt, and believed in Patton, D-Day, and the soldiers in Iraq. The same will be said of “13 Hours.” There will be great anger and resentment towards politicians in Washington, D.C. after viewing this movie. And Ms. Clinton will be the chief recipient of the anger and distrust.

The repercussions won’t effect President Obama, it’s too late. But it will almost certainly have a devastating effect on Hillary Clinton. When the viewers see that Americans died needlessly, there will be political fallout. When they come to understand that they were lied to by the current administration about the reasons for the Benghazi attack, it will effect the next election. It might even effect the upcoming Democratic primary. Americans understand that during war, people will die. They hate it but they understand it. But they will not allow, and they will hold those accountable, when politicians lie about why these death occurred.

The American people do not understand why Hillary did not supply more support and backup reinforcements after repeated requests for more security. Ambassador Stevens, embassy personnel, and the soldiers asked repeatedly for help during these 13 hours; and were told no. The “stand down” order was given or implied multiple times, thus causing Americans to die needlessly and without the help that could have saved their lives.

The attack by terrorists against Americans happened in Benghazi in September of 2012, in the heat of the 2012 presidential election. The 9/11 date obviously had historical significance. President Obama was telling the American voter that “al-Qaeda was on the run” and that the war against terrorism had been won. The attack by terrorists in Benghazi went directly opposite of the Obama election talking points. Thus, Obama and Hillary thought they could not tell the truth. It would have run contrary to their election propaganda, so they lied. They said the entire attack on the American compound was due to an obscure video on YouTube mocking Mohammed. Rather than tell the truth; that a planned and premeditated attack by terrorists against Americans in Benghazi, Libya on 9/11 had killed American servicemen.

The American people, the families of the dead, Americans soldiers in Benghazi, and the electorate were lied to. We can read and study this dozens of times, but it does not have the longstanding heartfelt impact of watching this on the big screen. “All the President’s Men” showed us clearly what a rotten nasty crude person Nixon was. Now “13 Hours” shows us clearly the lies of Hillary Clinton. This biographical movie, along with the recently released classified secret emails off of Ms. Clinton’s private server, are proof positive that she purposely and deliberately lied to the American people. Nixon’s tapes are Hillary’s emails. How ironic it is, that Ms. Clinton was at one time a part of the Watergate trials in the impeachment attempt against Nixon. Some call this karma, some call this political payback, some call it “just desserts”; while others just call it the truth.
