A new political identity

1 min read

To the editor:

What is it about the Trump phenomenon that is causing all the various political factions to shed large numbers of their old followers and to see them support Trump in this Presidential campaign?

The crystal ball of all the usual pundits has become cloudy and refuses to clear the scene for a better understanding as to what exactly is happening. The reason is quite clear once one can put away all the old political groups and their tags and look to see if there is a new one that is no longer on the horizon but is now high in the political sky, blinding those who refuse to agree it exists.

It is not Liberalism.

It is not Conservatism.

It is Trump’s version of politics in the United States and it may be most aptly called Americanism.

It is refreshing to be part of this group as there need not be any cramped toes because this just may a new house that allows for a new broom to find a home. This broom will sweep with vigor and it will sweep clean. We will be the better for it I suspect.
