National debt aka government waste

2 min read

To the editor:

I urge those of you, like me, who are totally fed up with excessive government. mismanagement and waste of our tax revenue, to take a few minutes to Google “Porker of the month,” “Porker of the year,” and “Stupid things the government is spending money on.” I feel certain you will be amazed how creative and imaginative our incompetent elected officials truly are.

It is worth noting we have accumulated the biggest debt in the history of the world and we are adding to it at the rate of about $150 million dollars an hour. We are unquestionably on a race to the bottom and obscurity. What truly bothers me is the fact that everyone in the D.C. swamp and the entire news media never mention this, our most important problem. It is beyond time to wake up. Time for action!

A few examples of typical government waste:

1) The federal government spends $25 billion a year to maintain federal buildings that are either unused or totally vacant.

2) USA farmers are given a total of $2 billion each year for not planting crops on their land. This practice has been ongoing for decades.

3) According to the Heritage Foundation, the USA military spent “$998,798 shipping two (2) 19 cent washers from South Carolina to Texas & $293.451 sending an 89 cent washer from South Carolina to Florida.”

4) The National Institute of Health loves to spend our tax money on really bizarre things. The N.I.H. once spent $800,000 in “Stimulus Funds” to study the impact of a “Genital-washing program” on men in South Africa. Why?????

As you will immediately notice, government waste is not concentrated in a specific department. They are ALL participants!

I urge all of you to join me in an effort to bury all of your elected officials with e-mails, letters, and phone calls. Addresses are all available on line. Do nothing and we will most definitely crash and burn!
