Vote-By-Mail in the upcoming elections
Voters who are already registered can request a mail in (absentee ballot) form through the website canivote.org. Residents who have not yet registered to vote can download a National Mail Voter Registration form and mail the completed form to the address provided. All Florida residents are entitled to take advantage of the opportunity to vote by mail. Mail in ballots can also be requested by calling the Lee County Supervisor of Elections office at 533-8683 or the Collier County Supervisor of Elections office at 252-8450. The deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 2 general election is Oct. 4.
Cities, counties and states across the country have discovered the distinct advantages mail brings to their elections. Florida is one of several states who have added Vote-by-Mail which offers voters the opportunity to study the initiatives, the candidates and the ballots in the comfort of their home prior to casting their vote. Vote-by-Mail also eliminates confusion about where to vote and increases participation among voters. Official Election Mail is protected by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, the oldest federal law enforcement agency in the nation.
