Civic Corner: Judah to speak on pollution of Caloosahatchee on April 12

By Staff | Apr 5, 2016

The NFM Renaissance Campaign, dedicated to turning around NFM economically, raising community pride and participation and optimism, and making Our Town a better place in which to live and work, is holding its second meeting on April 12 at noon at the Road 41 Grill, 13351 N. Cleveland Ave. This meeting will discuss the causes and possible cures of the pollution in our Caloosahatchie River. The speaker will be Ray Judah, former county commissioner and longtime champion of environmental initiatives, and this could be the most important issue of our time.

If you have any expertise or experience in this area, come share it with us. Public invited to participate in a wide-ranging discussion of how to create a “rebirth” of NFM.

That very same day, from 7 to 9 p.m., the NFM Civic Association will hold its regular monthly business meeting at its usual meeting place, the NFM Recreation Center, 2000 N. Recreation Way, off Business 41 behind the Library north of Pine Island Road. A speaker will discuss the always stimulating subject of Solid Waste and a full agenda of business will be discussed.

As always the public is invited, and as always “Visitor Time” near the beginning of the meeting provides non-members the opportunity to ask questions and make comments and suggestions. Hope to see you at both of these meetings.
