Sanchez finished first in the open 1600 meters at the Guy Thomas Memorial Classic at Dunbar High School with a time of 6:49:67.

The senior hurled eight innings of one-run ball, striking out nine in a 2-1, nine-inning win for the Gators over Sebring. He then went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI in a win over Charlotte.
“During the Sebring game I wanted to stay in as long as I could. My pitches were working and our defense was too. I tried to dominate the zone early in counts so my pitch count would stay down. As a bat right now, I’ve had to make adjustments to now seeing early curveballs in my at-bats. But I’m keeping my same approach to stay middle away and move my runners over however I can.”
