High School Bowling in full swing at All Star Lanes
Several months ago, officials from All Star Bowling Lanes approached the Lee County School Board to offer High School league play at local centers.
The North Fort Myers All Star Lanes is now the official home base to both local North Fort Myers High and Island Coast High School teams.
“We supplied them with their bowling, team T-shirts and at the end of local tournament play, there will be a bowling tournament out of town we will pay for,” said Sally Gartner, program director for the local All Star Lanes.
There are both boys and girls teams, with coaches being both current and retired teachers.
Last week, the center hosted Riverdale High School for league competition.
The students are really enjoying it, the coaches agreed.
The bowlers from North Fort Myers are:
– Boys: Austin Brewer, Justin Kolecki, Michael Louden, Alex Mendoza, Alex Muir, Parker Pentiuk, Nick Perkins and Mazur Tibai.
– Girls: Sarah Daigle, Stella Dunham, Tori Fields, Paige Jordan, Lindsey Logan, Kayla Nicely, Erica Palumbo and Kayla Weber.
The bowlers from Island Coast are:
– Boys: Jordan Leigh, Pat Gray, Joe Barch, Jeremy Williams, Mike Kruger, Tim Sipper, Tyler Leclerc and Sedric Franklin.
– Girls: Jessica Davies, Jessica Leigh, Lindsey Conn, Sarah Siddons, Kim Snyder, Brianna Pridmore, Asianna Hotchkiss and Amanda Hamilton.

– Girls: Taylor Roger, Sara Waugh, Sarah Moulton, Katelynn George, Molly Metzger, Alecia Schwarz and Cristina Tudon.
The North Fort Myers High coaches are Sylvester “Sly” Isaac and Eric Brounson.
Isaac, a retired teacher from North, is the coach of the girl’s team. “We’ve won four, lost four and tied one, so we’re pretty even,” he said. “I’ve been bowling over 20 years but this is my first time coaching. I’m really enjoying this.”
Brounson teaches television production at the school and the boy’s team. “I like the coaching, and watching the kids improve.”
The Island Coast Gators team coaches are Jason Cooper, ESE teacher for the boys team and Tim Nenow for the girls.
Visiting coach Jeffrey Fowler from Riverdale, who teaches geometry at the school, said, “There’s a lot of rivalry and a lot of fun.”
The Lanes also is hosting a Kid Safe Halloween party to benefit the Harry Chapin Food Bank on Saturday, Oct. 29, from noon to 3 p.m.
There will be games and prizes and treats for kids. Admission is free with a non-perishable food donation. All bowling proceeds from noon to 3 p.m. will be donated to the Harry Chapin Food Bank.
All Star Lanes is located at 2818 N Tamiami Trl. in North Fort Myers.
