County youth basketball league to start in January
Lee County Parks & Recreation will host a youth basketball league from Jan. 9 to April 2. Registration is now open.
The Lee County Youth Basketball League is a 10-week program for kids ages 8-13. All practices and games will be held Mondays and Tuesdays in the gymnasium at Veterans Park Recreation Center, 55 Homestead Road South, Lehigh Acres.
The cost to participate is $50 dollars per player which includes a game t-shirt. A $10 individual facility membership is required to participate in this program.
Pre-registration is required with limited spots available. Register online at leeparks.org/register. The deadline to register is Jan. 9. Player evaluation and draft will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16.
The league is looking for volunteer coaches. Anyone interested in coaching is asked to contact Tim Berti at 239-533-7530 or email tberti@leegov.com.
