Tuesday

SOFTBALL

North Fort Myers 12, Riverdale 0 (6 innings): Kaliyah Williams came up big on the mound and the plate for the Red Knights (10-2). She held the Raiders to two hits and two walks while striking out 10 batters. Williams also homered twice, driving in three runs. Audrie Florenzano tripled and had two RBI, while Alison Smith doubled and drove in two. 

Cape Coral 8, Ida Baker 1: Taylor Buice and Allie Buice drove in two runs each for the Seahawks (9-4). Bella Poole doubled twice and had an RBI, and Emma Brannan had two hits including a double, scoring twice. Brannan was the winning pitcher, going five no-hit innings with 13 strikeouts and no walks. For Ida Baker (5-4), Lilly Hawley doubled in a run. 

Gulf Coast 6, Mariner 5 (8 innings): The Tritons took the lead in the top of the eighth inning only to see the Sharks walk it off with two in the bottom of the inning. Calleigh Buzard  had an RBI for the Tritons (7-6). Morgan Tucker and Kylie Dominello both tripled. 

BASEBALL

Ida Baker 14, Cape Coral 4 (6 innings): Luke Cole drove in three runs for the Bulldogs (9-7), with Lucas Gomez, Robbie Hensley, Ryan Chouinard and Nick Longo adding two RBI each. Brody Root tripled and scored three times. Preston Nielson was the winning pitcher. Collin Thess led the Seahawks (7-9) with a homer and a single, good for three RBI.

North Fort Myers 6, Riverdale 0: Payton Stirrup worked six innings, striking out six for North (10-8). Talon Barnes was 2-for-2 with two RBI, and Gustavo doubled in two runs. Ethan Zolecki tripled and scored twice. 

ECS 9, Mariner 0: PJ Marino, Antonio Marino and Ethan Rodriguez had singles for the Tritons (12-9).

Bishop Verot 5, Somerset Academy 1: The Vikings (13-7) scored four times in the bottom of the fourth. Joey Lawson drove in two Bishop Verot runs and Jayden Salazar scored twice. Blake Lavenia went the distance on the mound, allowing one unearned run in the seventh inning.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Cape Coral 8, Cypress Lake 1: Cape Coral upped its record to 4-6.

Bishop Verot 11, Aubrey Rogers 7: The Vikings improved to 6-5 with Tuesday’s win.
