Lee Health earns top marks for healthcare technology implementation

Lee Health is among one of the best healthcare systems in the country when it comes to implementing the latest in patient care technology, according to a recently published national recognition. This year marks the 10th consecutive year the health system has achieved this award status.
The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) announced that Lee Health has earned the 2023 CHIME Digital Health Most Wired recognition as a certified acute level 8 and ambulatory level 8 facility. This year, there were more than 55,000 facilities represented in the survey.
The CHIME Digital Health Most Wired program conducts an annual survey to assess how effectively healthcare organizations apply core and advanced technologies to their clinical and business programs to help improve healthcare in their communities. The purpose of the Most Wired program is to elevate the healthcare of communities around the world through the optimal use of information technology. The annual survey is designed to identify and recognize healthcare organizations that exemplify best practices through their adoption, implementation and use of technology.
“We are pleased to be recognized for continuously implementing the most cutting-edge healthcare technology to improve the care and safety of our patients,” said Dr. Larry Antonucci, president and chief executive officer of Lee Health. “We are also looking to integrate the latest in health information technology because it benefits our community, medical staff and patients, and we are grateful that our efforts in this area are being recognized nationally.”
Each participating organization received a customized benchmarking report, an overall score and scores for individual levels in eight segments: infrastructure, security, business/disaster recovery, administrative/supply chain, analytics/data management, interoperability/population health, patient engagement, and clinical quality/safety. Participants received certification based on their overall performance, with level 10 being the highest.
