Cape Cleaners launches initiative to help unemployed job-seekers ‘look their best’
Cape Cleaners is helping unemployed workers in the area put a shine on their next job interview by cleaning a suit or interview outfit at no cost.
“We want to help job seekers look and feel their best,” said Dan Puleio, owner of Cape Cleaners. “We know better than anyone what a clean and pressed garment can do for morale. We are pleased to do our part to restore the confidence of workers and families in our area.”
Anyone dropping off a garment for an interview can expect to receive it back, ready to wear, the next business day. He asks that anyone taking advantage of the service “mention to the Customer Service Representative that it is for an interview.”
Cape Cleaners has two locations in the Cape at 810 Cape Coral Parkway, E., and 30 Hancock Bridge Parkway, #110, and offers free pickup and delivery service to home or office. Call (239) 549-1740.
LCEC welcomes director of Human Resources
LCEC this week announced the appointment of Charmaine Smith as director of Human Resources. She brings extensive leadership experience spanning the utility, technology, manufacturing and global business sectors.
Most recently, Smith served as director of human resources for Orlando Utilities Commission, where she oversaw compensation and benefits, employee relations, HR systems and workforce strategy. In that role, she partnered with leaders across the organization to support talent development, operational excellence, and long-term workforce planning.
LCEC is Southwest Florida’s Electric Cooperative providing reliable, cost-competitive electricity to members throughout the region. The LCEC headquarters are in North Fort Myers, the same location where the cooperative originated in 1940. Approximately 450 skilled employees are positioned throughout the six-county service territory, including Immokalee, Cape Coral, North Fort Myers, Sanibel/Captiva, Pine Island, Useppa, Cabbage Key, Marco Island, Everglades City, Ave Maria, and parts of Lehigh Acres.

Anthrax’s Lewis to speak at next REIS meeting
Join the Real Estate Investment Society on Tuesday, Aug. 11, to hear from Arthrex about its approach to workforce housing. The program will begin promptly at 11:45 a.m. in the Osprey Room at Pelican Preserve’s Clubhouse, 9802 Pelican Preserve Blvd., Fort Myers.
The guest speaker will be Trent Lewis, who oversees the space planning, construction and building maintenance at Arthrex, Inc.
