Southwest Floridians can rev their engines and prepare for a rip-roaring good time, as a major special event returns to the South Cape this weekend.

Cape Coral Bike Night, which will continue its updated layout — this time with additional motorcycle parking, returns to Southeast 47th Terrace Saturday starting at 5 p.m. for the first event of the season.

“We’re extremely excited to kick off the season’s first Cape Coral Bike Night and welcome back residents and visitors from across Southwest Florida,” said Cape Coral Deputy Parks & Recreation Director Michael Massoglia. “It’s a great opportunity to bring people together, connect with fellow motorcycle enthusiasts, and enjoy a night of music, food, and fun.”

Bike parking has moved to a location dubbed the “Thunder Zone.” Located at 4631 S.E. 10th Place, this premier parking spot in Club Square is the central rally point where all the hottest rides will be showcased. Motorcycle parking will also be allowed in the Iguana Mia parking lot (accessible by turning west at the Vincennes roundabout), and Southeast 11th Place, on the north end of the Slow Bike Race area, close to Southeast 46th Lane. Motorcycle parking is not permitted along Southeast 47th Terrace.

This high-octane, free event features live music, with headliner Hairdaze and psychedelic funk band Moonstone Riders, as well as delicious food and local vendors. Highlights of the night include the Slow Bike Race at 8 p.m., where balance and control are pushed to the limit.

“Hairdaze will headline the first Bike Night of the season,” Massoglia said. “They are an ’80s rock cover band that plays songs by Bon Jovi, Poison, Journey, and my favorite, Def Leppard. With live music, delicious food, and local vendors, there’s plenty to enjoy beyond the bikes. Come out with friends, enjoy the entertainment, and spend a fun evening here in Cape Coral.”

Of why Bike Night is a can’t-miss event, Massoglia said, “Bike Night is a chance to check out the motorcycles, meet other riders, and enjoy an evening with people who share your passion. Whether you ride or simply enjoy motorcycles, we welcome you to join us.”

The Slow Bike races — signed waiver required — begin at on Southeast 11th Place.

The check-in tent to register is at Southeast 47th Terrace and Southeast 11th Place.

Bike participants must enter the Slow Bike Race Arena off of Southeast 46th Lane.

“This is our first Bike Night of the season, and we’re ready to get things started,” Massoglia said. “Mark your calendars, make plans to join us, and be sure to catch the Slow Bike Race at 8 p.m. It’s a chance to see riders put their balance and control to the test.”

Organizers highly encourage the use of ride share services, like Lyft, Uber or a taxi, for both responsible drinking and to assist guests in getting to the venue in the safest, most efficient way.

The next Bike Night takes place Feb. 13.
