J. Colin English Elementary accepted as Primary Years International Baccalaureate Program
Lee County Public Schools is very proud to announce that J. Colin English Elementary School’s application for candidacy for the Primary Years International Baccalaureate Program has been accepted. This designation means J. Colin English Elementary will be recognized as an IB Candidate School for the Primary Years Program, which is the next step in the process to be a Primary Years IB school.
J. Colin English Elementary joins Mariner Middle School, which found out it was named an IB Middle Years Candidate School earlier this year.
“Yet another one of our schools is primed to provide students with advanced learning experiences,” said Dr. Lawrence Tihen, Interim Superintendent of Schools. “Our goal has always been to provide a myriad of educational experiences for all of our students, and the IB program plays a vital role in these efforts – having J. Colin English Elementary join the ranks of our IB schools only strengthens our District.”
J. Colin English Elementary is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. All IB schools share a common philosophy: a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education, and J. Colin English Elementary shares the belief that such a rigorous educational environment is important for today’s students to prepare for tomorrow’s world.
