Reminder: Deadline for ‘10,000 for the Troops’ Holiday Card Campaign is Thursday

The city of Cape Coral is taking part in the 92.5 FOX News “10,000 for the Troops” campaign, collecting holiday cards for deployed service members.

Mayor John Gunter encourages all residents and visitors to join in the initiative with deadlines Thursday, Dec. 4.

“As a community, we are always seeking meaningful ways to express our gratitude to the brave men and women serving our country. Participating in the ‘10,000 for the Troops’ campaign is a simple way for Cape Coral to show our support and remind our deployed service members they are never far from home, especially during the holidays,” Gunter said in a prepared statement. “Let’s come together as a community and deliver 10,000 messages of hope and appreciation.”

Card-Signing Guidelines:

• Address your card to “Dear Warrior” or use a similar greeting.

• Sign with your first name and your town and state.

• Cards must be unsealed and should not include glitter, photos, or personal information.

“This Christmas, while families gather at home, thousands of America’s sons and daughters will serve far away-protecting and waiting for word from home,” the city release states. “The City of Cape Coral is partnering with 92.5 FOX News and asking for something simple: a Christmas card. Just a few words. A reminder they’re not forgotten. It may seem small, but when you’re thousands of miles away, it means everything. Let’s send 10,000 cards. 10,000 messages of gratitude. 10,000 reminders of home.”
