Lehigh resident Howard Allen turns 100
Howard Allen celebrated his 100th birthday on April 7, marking a remarkable century of life, faith, family, and hard work.
Born in Luverne, Alabama, Howard built a life defined by dedication and perseverance. He worked for many years as a foundry worker, providing for his family through honest labor. In his spare time, he also enjoyed building homes, using his hands and skills to create places where families could grow and thrive.
Howard was blessed with a loving marriage to his wife, Katherine Allen, with whom he shared 77 wonderful years. Their lifelong partnership was a testament to love, commitment, and devotion. Katherine passed away in 2025, leaving behind a legacy of cherished memories for their family.
Together they raised seven children, creating a large and loving family that continues to honor the values of faith, hard work, and dedication that Howard and Katherine instilled in them.
In 1991, Howard moved to Lehigh Acres, Florida, from Oberlin, Ohio, where he became a valued member of the community. He is a faithful member of Gulf Coast Church of Christ in Fort Myers, where his enduring faith has remained an important part of his life.
