GCM Contracting Solutions has partnered with Lee County Electric Cooperative to develop a new West Cape Coral Service Center, which will meet the needs of rapid population growth and increasing demand for reliable utility infrastructure across the Southwest Florida. region

Cape Coral is one of Florida’s fastest-growing cities, with an estimated population of 228,000 and projections to reach 375,000 residents by 2050. The city has been growing at a rate of nearly 7% annually, ranking among the fastest-growing municipalities in the United States with populations over 100,000, according to U.S. Census data.

Located at 3251 S.W. 20th Ave., in Cape Coral, the new 12,000-square-foot, two-story West Cape Coral Service Center is being developed to improve response times, enhance operational efficiency, and strengthen storm restoration capabilities across LCEC’s service territory.

“This facility enhances how LCEC serves a rapidly growing region while ensuring LCEC is prepared for storm season,” said Denise Vidal, EVP and CEO, LCEC. “It enhances coordination between field crews, system operations, and improves our ability to restore power safely and efficiently when members need us most.”

The facility will include administrative offices, lineworker support spaces, warehouse operations, system operations areas, conference and break rooms, and essential infrastructure such as a UPS room.

“At GCM Contracting, we take a practical, design-build approach focused on delivering projects that perform as intended from day one and over the long term,” said Robert Brown, Founder and CEO, GCM. “This facility uses concrete tilt-up construction and pre-engineered systems to achieve durability, efficiency, and cost-effective execution. As Southwest Florida continues to grow, we’re proud to support LCEC with infrastructure that strengthens their ability to deliver reliable service at scale.”
