Lee County announces temporary closure of North Shore Park for gate installation
North Shore Park, 13001 N. Cleveland Ave., North Fort Myers, will be temporarily closed to the public from Monday, Aug. 3, through Wednesday, Aug. 5, for the installation of a new automatic gate system.
The park is scheduled to reopen at dawn on Thursday, Aug. 6.
During the closure, the park and its amenities will not be accessible to ensure the safety of visitors and staff while the installation occurs. The three-day closure is necessary to allow installation of traffic loops and sensors beneath the pavement, which are part of the new gate system. The installation of the automatic gate is part of ongoing efforts to enhance park operations and improve security.
The construction schedule is weather permitting and subject to change. Visitors are asked to follow posted signage and avoid closed areas for their safety.
