Horror Movie Music with the Gulf Coast Symphony Pops at the MACC
What’s your favorite scary movie?
Experience the sweeping cinematic scores – and scares – of classic and modern horror films with the full Gulf Coast Symphony as it presents terrifying tunes — from the iconic rhythmic strains of Psycho and the ominous approach of Jaws, to chilling, thrilling themes from The Omen, Dracula, The Corpse Bride, and more.
Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho revolutionized cinema, forever changing audience expectations for the thriller and horror genres. Equally groundbreaking was Bernard Herrmann’s iconic score, whose piercing string motifs (most famously in the shower scene) demonstrated the extraordinary power of music to heighten suspense, shape emotion, and become an inseparable part of a film’s visual storytelling.
The concert will be on Friday, Oct. 30 with two shows at 6 and 8 p.m. at the Music and Arts Community Center at 13411 Shire Lane in Fort Myers off Daniels Parkway on the campus of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Fort Myers.
Concert-goers are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes.
