Registration open for fundraising pageant
The Belle of the Ball Pageant: A Pageant with a Purpose will host auditions from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, in front of Macy’s at the Edison Mall in Fort Myers.
Girls ages 3-16 are invited to step onto the stage, while supporting an important cause.
The charity fundraiser will support the Bahnam Builders St. Jude Dream Home Showplace in Cape Coral — Florida’s first-ever one — being built to raise funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Belle of the Ball goes beyond a traditional pageant. Contestants will be judged on their fundraising efforts, personality and presentation in three clothing categories: denim, sleepwear and ball gown.
The audience will also have an opportunity to vote for the Crowd Choice Award, and depending on the number of contestants, a winner will be crowned in each age group.
No previous pageant experience is required.
Registration will close Sept. 30.
The final pageant will take place March 7 at the Splendor Event Banquet Hall in Cape Coral.
At the heart of Belle of the Ball is a simple mission: “kids helping kids with cancer,” giving local girls an opportunity to shine, while making a difference for children and families supported by St. Jude.
