Update of the ongoing construction on State Road 739 from north of the Caloosahatchee to Bayshore Road
The Florida Department of Transportation shares regular updates on the ongoing construction of S.R. 739 from north of the Caloosahatchee River to S.R. 78.
Recent work
Work continued on the upgraded roadway lighting with additional efforts on the new concrete sidewalk along the corridor. Crews also continued with new concrete pads around the recently installed pull boxes. In addition, crews also installed the new signalization wire into the new mast arms.
Upcoming work
Now through Wednesday morning, April 1, motorists should expect intermittent nighttime lane closures. Crews will be hanging mast arms and installing the Pedestrian Hybrid Beacons (PHBs) on State Road 739 (Business 41) at Pondella Road, West Mariana Avenue, and near West North Shore. Still to come, crews will pave the final riding layer of the roadway.
The estimated completion of the project has been adjusted due to project resequencing in response to addressing community concerns. Estimated completion is early 2026.
FDOT thanks you for your patience and understanding as it works to finish this roadway improvement project. Stay tuned for future updates as FDOT makes progress on this critical project.
