With 16 of 17 precincts reporting, Jordan leads to hold school board seat
With 16 of 17 precincts reported, District 4 School Board incumbent Debbie Jordan held the lead with 52.99% of the votes.
Jordan faced challenger Tony Beougher as they were among the two top vote getters from the Primary Election that advanced them to the General Election.
Jordan received 22,055 or 52.99% of the votes, and Beougher received 47.01%, or 19,569 votes.
“First, I want to thank the voters of District 4 for placing their trust in me and giving me the opportunity to continue serving our community,” Jordan said.
She said this campaign has been about more than winning an election.
“It has been about listening to families, teachers, school staff, and community members and making sure their voices are heard,” Jordan said. “I have always believed that serving on the school board is not a part-time job. It requires commitment, accountability, and a willingness to ask the hard questions and make difficult decisions.”
She said she is humbled by the support and encouragement she has received throughout the campaign.
“I also recognize that there are people who may not have voted for me, and I want them to know that I will continue working for every child and every family in Lee County,” Jordan said. “My commitment remains the same: to put students first, support our teachers and staff, and make sure our tax dollars are being used responsibly. Thank you for allowing me to continue this work.”
For District 5, Crystal Johnson took the lead over incumbent Armor Persons with 58.89%, or 23,227 votes compared to Person’s 41.11%, or 16,212 votes.
Two of the four School Board of Lee County races were decided in the primary election. Board Member Sam Fisher was re-elected to the District 1 seat, while School Board Member Jada Langford Fleming was re-elected to the District 6 seat — an at-large one decided countywide.
