Community Connection | Fall in Southwest Florida
Finally my favorite time of the year. School’s underway, homecomings, Halloween and all the cool things fall brings with it.
Fall in Southwest Florida is not like the leaves turning color, caramel apple, sweater weather I grew up with but it is window opening time and smell the difference just the same.
We have been planning our events and one in particular I would like to talk about is our Veterans Angel tree. This is our fifth year of putting up our tree in the lobby of the North Fort Myers Recreation Center.
Our residents do an awesome job of picking a name off the tree and purchasing a gift for veterans. Also, if you know of a local vet who deserves a little cheer, please add their name to our tree. If you can’t get to the recreation center you can email us the information.
We had a good turn out for our speaker from the LCSO Trafficking division. Det. Villa shared her experience and shared what’s going on in our local area, what to see and how to help. Thank you. Det. Villa and the concerned residents who attended.
The NFMCA is proud to introduce our two new board members.
Larry Politowicz is a retired paramedic who is ready to jump in for our community.
Terri Gieske has vast knowledge and experience in community relations.
Both of these board members will bring much to the table and we look forward to the coming years and welcome them to our board. We invite you to attend a meeting and you might just feel like this could be something you might want to do.
Meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month at the North Fort Myers Rec Center, 2000 N Recreation Parkway. Meeting run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
