Mariner 20, North Fort Myers 14: Tondrick Mack ran for a touchdown and also caught a pass from Jamarion Corbett for a TD as Mariner evened its record at 1-1. Mack and J’Marion Shortridge scored touchdowns in the third quarter, turning a 7-7 halftime score into a 20-7 Tritons lead. The Red Knights’ points came on an Aiden Lopez run and a 50-yard Ryan Johnson to Wyatt Sabin pass. The Knights slipped to 1-2.
Island Coast 15, East Lee County 6: The Gators’ defense kept the Jaguars in check, allowing a touchdown in the first quarter before shutting the door. Island Coast (1-2) took the lead for good (9-7) on a Terran McClendon touchdown run in the second quarter. The Gators tacked on an insurance TD in the second half.
Bishop Verot 38, Riverdale 0: Verot (1-1) cruised to its first win, thanks in part to six Raiders turnovers. Oliver McGee snatched up a bobbled snap on a Riverdale pont and took it into the end zone. On offense, Ayden Gonzalez ran for two touchdowns, while Robi Duclona Crew Stanbough had a rushing TD each for Bishop Verot. The Vikings led 28-0 at halftime.
Oasis at LaBelle, postponed: The Sharks were washed out for the third time in eight days: a twice-scheduled matchup with Mariner and Friday’s contest at LaBelle.
