Cape Coral 3, Island Coast 0: The sweep gave the Seahawks a 14-10 record, dropping the Gators to 6-12. Both teams have one more match to play before district tournament play begins.

Babcock 3, Oasis 0: The Trailblazers of Babcock (15-10) rolled to a 25-16, 25-16, 25-7 win keyed by 21 service aces. The Sharks ended their regular season 8-14.

Bishop Verot 3, LaBelle 1: The Vikings (19-3) fell behind early, but rebounded to defeat LaBelle (10-6) 16-25, 25-18, 25-16, 25-16.

Ida Baker 3, Fort Myers 1: The Bulldogs took care of the Green Wave, 25-14, 25-12, 20-25, 25-23.

Football

Ida Baker 42, Mariner 21: The ground game produced five touchdowns for the Bulldogs (4-3). Dominic Pena made TD runs of 60, 1 and 36 yards, while Paytrell Coleman ran for 6- and 11-yard touchdowns. Jimmy Hynes’ 19-yard catch from Aiden Thurber provided the sixth Ida Baker touchdown. For the Tritons (2-3), Wenstan Penermon scored twice on the ground and Aljah Touchstone connected with Jamarion Corbett for a touchdown pass.

Oasis 20, Island Coast 13 (OT): Cameron Hill scored and added a two-point conversion in the first overtime to lift the Sharks (5-0) to the win. That win was made possible for a huge play on special teams. In the final seconds of regulation, Oasis blocked an Island Coast field-goal attempt to force OT. A defensive stop and forced fumble at the 1 in overtime cemented Oasis’ victory. Hill also provided the Sharks’ first touchdown with a 5-yard run. Two field goals provided the remainder of the scoring for Oasis. Christian Henderson raced 80 yards in the first quarter and Terran McClendan caught a 65-yard Dontavian Wilson pass for the Gators (2-0).

Port Charlotte 26, Bishop Verot 12: The Pirates (4-2) dominated the second half 14-0 to send the Vikings (3-2) to defeat. Christopher Bobbs caught a 25-yard touchdown pass from Hudson Peak and Jack Fish kicked two field goals to provide the Bishop Verot scoring.
